Seaspiracy is the groundbreaking new Netflix documentary that has shocked the world, shining a light on the global fishing industry, challenging notions of sustainable fishing and showing how human actions cause widespread environmental destruction.
Approximately 46% of the 79 thousand tons of ocean plastic in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is made up of fishing nets and waste. But why is nobody talking about it? British filmmaker, Ali Tabrizi, went undercover to discover the truth.

The Truth About Plastic Pollution In The Ocean and 'Dolphin Friendly' Labels | Seaspiracy
Passionate about ocean life, a filmmaker sets out to document the harm that humans do to marine species - and uncovers alarming global corruption.

  • "killing dolphins and whales to prevent them from eating the fish they want to catch to sell and make money" isn't the only shady thing japan goes so extensively to hide. the foolish and damaging illogical behavior of japan is reflected in its striving to keep its short moment of victory of its short-lived thriving moment. one of those japanese dolphin killers 'fishermen' should be interviewed and the audience will finally know how illogically malicious and foolish their 'reasons' are. Not only this BUT NOW, JUST LIKE HOW JAPAN SAYS THEY WANT TO CONTINUE THE BANNED WHALE HUNTING, THEY NOW WANT TO DUMP/RELEASE RADIOACTIVE WATER FROM THE FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR PLANT ACCIDENT TO THE OCEAN. THEY CLAIM "IT'S SAFE" WHILE ALREADY THE FISHES CAUGHT SURROUNDING THERE AND IN CLOSE PROXIMITY HAVE REPORTED MORE THAN 10 TIMES THE NORMAL AMOUNT OF CESIUM IN THEM. MEANING U EAT THAT AND SUFFER AND DIE AND FK UP UR GENES. DUMB TOXIC FOOLISHNESS IS ALL WE CAN SAY ABOUT JAPAN.

  • This is very horrible, that the sea creatures are dying in this way. When I was reading the comments about how horrible humans are. I was reminded also about abortion & the killings of innocent unborn babies in the womb. If we are concerned about the animals & sea creatures (and rightfully we should) as well as our planet, then why don’t we also care for our fellow human beings these unborn babies who are being allowed to be killed and in a horrible way. Please do not be immune to this, and think this is normal. By the way, I do not condemn anyone who has gone through this, you did what you thought was the right decision at the time, but i thought I would mention this, because if we know better, we could do better.

  • Can they make fishing nets biodegradable? I know it's not going to stop the atrocity of comercial fishing and throwback, could solve one of the problems.

    Thomas SpoelmanThomas Spoelman6 dögum síðan
    • That is an interesting idea, but I think the problem with that is that the fishermen would only be able to use fishing nets for a period of time, or it may easily break. It might be wrong though. Either way, we still need to leave the sea alone for some time because fishing itself is not only polluting the seas, but is wiping out marine life. We are only making it harder and harder for the future generation.

    • It is really hard to trust people nowadays. Or any day. Although I don't believe in the bible, or any religion, I do believe that there is a greater being, and these religions are only fractions of what we were able to gather from Them. Every religion has good messages that lead to maturity, yet it is so sad to see that people give up basic, obvious morals for the sake of comfort, leading to more corruption.

  • This production lost any credibility it may have had when it gave Sea Shephard a platform to stand on. Plain and simple, the Sea Shephard Conversation Society is a terrorist organization. Were the point of this production to advocate a vegetarion or a vegan lifestyle, I understand, though it is not for me. If you are or want to live that lifestyle, I respect that. It is very clear though that this is not a documentary, purely a special interest production.

  • Farm fish !!! Invest in open ocean Aqua culture!! Answers are obvious, people are slow to change . Invest and overcome . All countries need to get behind open ocean fish farming and slowly move consumer preferences to farmed variety . Just crank up the price on wild caught fish . Send fishing licenses through the roof . Get fisherman to farm fish instead of hunting them . Put this across the floor at the United Nations . This can be fixed so easily .

  • The problem here is money, everyone is looking for a game and environmental issues is just one of the game pieces. There is only a small percentage of environmental groups that are actually in the field to protect the environment, the rest are in it for profit. Its just like the vegan movement, no major food brands gave two shits about the vegan market until the movement started to grow and they saw profit in it, now every major food brand is making junk vegan food and calling it plant-based and its making people sick. One company came out with a mock meat and now there are 15 different brands out there all, high in sodium, all high in fat and high processed chemicals and are calling it plant-based. The biggest problem fueling this corruption is the dumbass millennials that think eating highly processed vegan junk food and protesting every goddamn thing is somehow being heroic and saving the planet. Seriously, Dianna Cohen is a perfect example of corruption, she is the CEO of Plastic Pollution Coalition and she doesn't have a freaking opinion about one of the major contributors to plastic pollution of our ocean? Bet she is pulling a healthy salary though isn't she? And just for the record, Dianna Cohen's net worth is $18 million. Yeah, her dream is creating a better planet.

This plus some other docos available at the moment make you realise that big business rules everything and there is no hope for this planet. Too many greedy bastards live here. I see there are videos of people debunking this doco, but even if 20% of this absolutely accurate...THATS TOO MUCH! None of this should be happening.
