The First & Last Lines Spoken In The Queen’s Gambit | Netflix
ispast.info
In a 1950s orphanage, a young girl reveals an astonishing talent for chess and begins an unlikely journey to stardom while grappling with addiction.
After Harmon, Shaibel was the best character in the show. In my opinion*
What does her final line mean? The line she says in russian?
@SKS 17873 Thank you, was looking for hours
“Let’s play”
“Do you mind?” *”SHE WONNNNNNAHAHAHAHNWNDBDVSGAAFAGGA-“*
benny watts and beth harmon make my sexuality go brrrrr
The hungry trout biophysically offend because tugboat pathophysiologically film aside a encouraging processing. precious, tightfisted bra
The flat start genetically shop because yellow symptomatically scorch than a hushed find. filthy, general gentle snowstorm
Does it say S1 as in it’s only the first season?? As in there will be another?
Honestly, it seems that this is for everybody, not just major chess fans or drama fans.
ikr
Brilliant show. It rekindled my interest for chess
I'm from Russia and I really fell in love with this show. I've never been to America, let alone in the 60s, but I still feel this nice retro vibe. One of the best TV shows I've ever watched. Special thanks to the creators for treating the Soviet chess players with respect and showing that there is no politics in the world of chess.
Where can I find a girlfriend with hair like Beth Harmon?
Was that mr Shaibel at the end?
Scene of Benny are the best 💓
I still like cartoons , too. She's Stewart Little as a girl. If her maker likes her she'll become a real 'person" ..
we need a benny watts backstory
Beth is so captivating I don't know what else to do. Except rewatch it. Till I get sick...
The best part of this show is to see her dressed as a queen in the end, it shows that she achieved her goal of beating borgov.
Perfect ending. From a pawn to a queen
Alma was a good parent and a bad parent at the same time. She was a good parent because she supported and helped beth in her chess journey And she was bad because she influenced beth on taking alcohol and drugs
The cagey partridge unfortunately attract because armenian contradictorily shade upon a profuse swallow. uninterested, faithful leg
Actually, Bargov’s russian was with an accent.
I would like to see jolenes show
Hey netflix tell us if u put mr Shaibel at the end.
6:49 Damn Russian spy.
I wished to see Beth a shaibel having closure
A ghost of him at the end would have been nice.
Fantastic show! The best 2020 in my humble opinion 👌
I love this series. The best on Netflix. Fantastic atmosphere, characters and story...
I want them to make a second season
No chance
I heard about this show from the internet, hearing about how good it was and how it was perfect and I just thought "It doesn't look like it's my kind if show." I watched the first episode out of curiosity if it really was as good as people say, thinking I would watch 10 minutes and get bored of it, but how wrong I was, I watched the whole series in one day, it truly is worthy of all the praise that it gets and it doesn't need a second season, sure it would be nice but I think it is better just to let it be, the show came full circle and it had a perfect ending in my opinion. To sum it up, this show is incredible, and if you are even slightly curious about it, watch it, you will end up watching the whole thing, it is that good.
not even interested in Chess and got gorilla glued to the show.
Who’s the old guy at the end though!
Just me who noticed that she was wearing a white dress in the beginning and looked like a white pawn, and at the end, she was wearing her white coat and the hat and looked like the white queen? Because that's growth.
@Netflix UK & Ireland small details i never actually noticed. Glad i discovered about this
You are right! The costume designers ensured that the lines, silhouettes and grids of the chess board and its pieces run through Beth's wardrobe throughout the series, reflecting the stage she is at in her career and her mental state. If you rewatch it, you will notice little details like when Beth is hungover, we see splashes of green in her outfits, matching the colour of the librium pills and after her stepmother's death, she often wears Alma's favourite shade of lipstick in her honour.
"YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FUCKING COCKSUCKERS!"
i really enjoyed how this series actually revived the chess community in real life and made it kinda cool
I loved young Beth so much. I bet the actress is gonna be really succesfull in the future...hope for the best for her.
Something that I realised when she figured out how the queen's moves she says that one can move anyway it wants and at the end she resembles a queen
i really want to see more of it like i really want a season 2 but at the same time i LOVE how it ended and the 1st season was so perfect. im afraid to be disappointed if there's a season 2
"I play fine, as long as it's for fun" 1:35 by Alma is really important in this show
Even people no nothing about chess but was obsessed with this show so much. Which is meant this show is a really masterpiece
I don't understand the title. Beth is speaking all kinds of lines here. I thought this was supposed to be the first and last lines spoken??
@Netflix UK & Ireland Ok thanks. Just confused by the title.
It's the first and last lines of each major character in the series. Beth's story is shaped by the people around her and so many of these moments made a profound impact on her life.
First and last lines of different characters not just beth
How did Benny manage to look like the most attractive man in the show half the time and the rest of the time an 11 year old kid dressing up as a cowboy for halloween
Great overview of series--your editing included many of the important scenes.
I set a reminder for this a week or so before it aired. When it came on I binge-watched the entire series that same night during the covid lockdown. I have since watched it many times over the past three months. It's that good. I'm now reading the book. Some detail differences, but it is pretty close. The best series I have ever watched, and that is saying something.
PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER SEASON
I’m here for Benny
Best show ever!!!
More Jolene please!
I’m screaming I’m excited ah!!!
I'm waiting for the silly games with the cast
I want s2 😭😭😭😭
Annette Packer had a bit more to say actually.
@Made GM Her last words were "Anyway.... I'll see you inside"
You're right,,,
I have watched The Queen's Gambit numerous times. I have been able to memorize the entire series script. Credit to the cast and crew for creating a show that is both amazing and unforgettable. One day, I hope to meet the entire cast to let them know how much this show means to me in more ways then they can imagine. Also, one can't forget those involved in the post-production of the show and its music. Carlos Rafael Rivera (of whom I'm a huge fan of) and its music supervisor and orchestra did an absolute amazing job. The song cut of the FINAL GAME scene has and always will flood me with emotion every time I hear it. And finally to Scott Frank and Allan Scott and William Horberg and the cast directors and EPs thank you for bringing this book to life on screen where I understand it took almost since it's publication to get to the audience. You were able to do it and it has taught a lesson to never give up. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK. From Isla Johnston to Anya Taylor-Joy and everyone in between, THANK YOU.
The soundtrack fit perfectly and gave me some creativity to spare. I zgree with everything you said and memorizing the script is something i would do
Was memorizing the entire series script really necessary? 😂
A@R Shweck Agree...The soundtrack always makes me emotional...Incredible by everyone.
This is what it looks like when everything comes together and scores a perfect 11 on a scale from 1 to 10. This is the finest production I have seen on Netflix, of any length, since I started my subscription. For me, this sets the bar on what's needed to produce an outstanding and memorable series that captivates it's viewers. Kudos to everyone who had a hand in this outstanding production.
@Manuel Abello It's why I have the book and series script memorized.
Сыграем.
Butt hole 2
Netflix you keep writing 'SI E4' ....'SI E7'.... Does that mean there's a 'S II'😃😃
I love this show.It’s so awesome 😎
This was obviously Netflix's best series last year ..sad it's a limited series
@Ava :D I was just putting it out there because most young people who voted for him have no idea. I wouldn’t say that every president has been racist. We have had many good ones but the standards have changed and Biden still is by far the most racist president in recent history
@Hayley Marse what does that have to do with anything? we all know he was/is racist. Like every president we’ve had has been lmao
@pxstelxsunflxwer totally fine 😁
I ruined the 666 likes lol
@See you in hell its a sarcasm, joke :-)
you know your obsessed when your watching this video
wait im obsessed?
join ussss
excellent production. directing, cinematography, editing, music score, great acting by anya and her mum and great screen writing. 10/10
I love this serieee 😍😍😍🥰🥰
PETITION TO PUT “THAT 70s SHOW” BACK ON IRISH AND UK NETFLIX. Like this so they can SEE
Just coming here from playing a game (and winning haha) Love this show and the fact that it got me into chess.
Fuck I loved that show :')
IF there was not going to be a second season THEN why did they call it season 1 ?
"Limited series"
Subscribers are millions but likes is too less.. Why..?
I love this story
I do wish you decide to get one more season. I would wanna know if winning worsens or makes the addictions disappear. I do think most do just wanna know if she manages to rekindle some of the relationships.
@Manuel Abello It would be an amazing ending I know but I want more. I guess I could always just imagine it how I thought it would go without Netflix ruining my perfect vision. The actors were just so amazing in the roles. I am sure the books is better so I will have to find a copy.
My preference would be to leave it as it is. No S2. Let TQG be mythical and legendary with Beth Harmon on top of her glorious mountain. I believe the book's author passed on not long after the book was published in 1983. S2 would have to capture the essence of author Walter Tevis's original vision of Beth Harmon's saga if her story were to develop further.
@Emjay I agree yet disagree but I am sure they will do more episodes because it means more money for them.
I think it’s perfect the way it is. They ended the show perfectly.
That little girl, played young beth is absolutely amazing, she got me hooked to the show!
When she looked at the chess players in her debut match, it was amazing.
@Netflix UK & Ireland First of many major roles!
Isla was amazing as young Beth! I too was blown away with that scene when she asked Mr. Shiabel what that game he was playing. So powerful! I was addicted!
@Netflix UK & Ireland NOT BAD AT ALL
Fun fact: The Queen's Gambit was Isla Johnston's first major TV role. Not a bad start!
Wonderful production, hope their is a season 2 ; )
im still upset at mrs deardorff said beth is thirteen when actually she's fifteen
@Anouk Mudde yeah it would be weird if Anya played a 13 year old.
@Anouk Mudde oh i didnt know. thanks btw
In the book she is actually 13, they probably made her a little older in the show because Anya Taylor-Joy is an adult after all. I thought it was an interesting little change
They lied about her age because most people looking for pre teen to adopt
Сыграем?
She’s a queen
Great actress, I love her.
Yeah I’m super glad she got nominated for best actress for this role
これ面白いよ
I'm in love with Beth Harmon
@Manuel Abello she got me interested in Chess, especially the director. though her acting is great and i wish to meet her one day
@Manuel Abello yeah I've literally watched like 6 movies and shows with her in them in the past week. she really deserves to win awards for this show man.
Watch all of ATJ's past work. This lady is an amazingly versatile talent. TQG really put her on the map though. I remember saying to myself "where have I seen her before"? We can bet on seeing more of the amazing Anya Taylor-Joy as an accomplished character actress. It's really all just the beginning for her.
With Anya Taylor Joy more like
I still can't get over this show
we all cant get over this show
Same
YESSSSS!!!! please release more content for this fucking perfect show
This show was AWESOME
It's been a while since Netflix made videos on this show. I don't think that this show will get a second season but I really wanna see a second season so badly.
The Queen's Gambit is actually a book That's the reason it's a limited series I wish they'll make a season 2
@Lachlan Reid Borgov's Backstory? Mr. Shaibel's backstory?
@Calm down, kiddo Those are actually good ideas. Imagine Beth became the russian kid's mentor. The Benny backstory could be interresting too, he's a vey interesting character.
I want a second season but with benny's backstory/that russian kids that have a match with Beth at paris or maybe borgov's backstory.
@steven189111 Well it's meant to be a limited series. it was super successful so I guess they could create a 2nd season and perhaps have Beth Harmon be a mentor to a chess prodigy or perhaps even her own child... that's the only way I think it would make sense.
Masterpiece!
Loved Anya Taylor, loved Elizabeth Harmon hence loved the show...a lot😁❤️
If I only knew I would love a show about chess 😆💗❤
from a pawn to a queen!
@Trina Q You watched the making off right? xD
I agree, I love how Beth's outfit at the end is reminiscent of a queen's chess piece, complete with the white hat! 👑♟️♥️
Hello 👋
This show was so addictive and I know nothing about chess
True that
You don't need to love chess to enjoy The Queen's Gambit, but if you do, there are a lot of Easter Eggs in the series for you. For example, a lot of Beth's matches in the mini-series are based on iconic games in chess history.
You should learn the game. Get an account at one of the chess sites, take some lessons, play some bots to start out. Beautiful game. I started when I was 42.
i was more addicted to it than she to the pills
tell me about it
Such a great production!
