  • This looks truly terrible. Katherine Ryan isn't funny, and this clip proves it. Absolute rubbish and forced as hell, its about as funny as a headache. Oh, and Ryan can't act for shit.

    Peter LenhamPeter Lenham25 dögum síðan
  • To all the people saying she cant act, shes written a character she plays which is so similar to her own personality. She isnt acting, technically, but her performance is sincere. Having seen her comedy, seeing her like this is not at all surprising.

    Hannah RobertsHannah Roberts26 dögum síðan
    • @Hannah Roberts I replied to merely tell you that there is better out there. Comedy that doesn't rely on crude jokes to gain it's audience. I know you can do better, and my voice, my opinion is there should you want to hear it. As I said, i have a right to give my opinion, as do you. I have a big problem in general with today's so called comedy as it is just vile, crude rubbish. Anyone can write this, so were is the skill? My point is there's no quality anymore, the best comedy was in the 70s and 80s, and I continually watch shows from those decades. She may be playing "herself," but it's still unimaginative, crass and badly written. I will voice my opinion on this because I believe my thoughts are valid and have merit.

      Peter LenhamPeter Lenham2 dögum síðan
    • @Peter Lenham I feel much the same way; everyone is entitled to their opinion. I never said anything otherwise. You also have no proof that she didnt write her material with all the things which you feel contribute to "true" comedy. If this piece has so little value to you, why did you feel the need to reply to my comment when it had nothing to do with your opinion? I welcome your response, however, I also have the right to say what I want.

      Hannah RobertsHannah Roberts2 dögum síðan
    • @Hannah Roberts I love "true" comedy, something that is written with passion, skill and intelligence. This has none of the above. I am entitled to my thoughts and opinion, and my opinion is this is the lowest quality. If you don't agree then that's your opinion. There is plenty of excellent comedy if you seek it. Again, I am entitled to my opinion on youtube, because it is there for just that.

      Peter LenhamPeter Lenham2 dögum síðan
    • I didnt comment on the quality of her performance or show or comedy. I commented on the sencerity of her performance. If you dont like her work, dont watch it, and, by extension, maybe dont prove you've invested your time into it by commenting on ISpast videos concerning her work.

    • @Peter Lenham The only comedian that I would call objectively untalented is Gallagher, because literally anyone can smash a melon with a giant hammer if they want to. Anyone else, it's simply a question of taste.

      Rabbi SpidermannRabbi Spidermann25 dögum síðan
    • @Rabbi Spidermann Yes you raise some interesting points.

      Peter LenhamPeter Lenham25 dögum síðan
    • @Peter LenhamI don't enjoy Hart's work, but he brings joy to a lot of people and there's no reason to shit on that. There is an objective measure to comedy up to a point, like is there any intelligence to it or is it just make cheap shots, is it original or just well-trod stereotypes about race and gender and whatnot? If it's harsh or mean, does it have a point to it or is it offensive for it's own sake? But even by those standards there's a lot of room for argument and comedy doesn't always have to be smart, either. 'Walk Hard' was a dumb movie- on purpose- but I still find it funny. Katherine Ryan isn't one of my favorites but I do like her. My favorite standup is Mitch Hedberg, if I have to limit my scope to living comedians I'd go with Wanda Sykes. I don't really have any opinion on John Candy one way or another, but I categorize him separately because he was an actor, not a stand up performer. I don't know how funny a comedy actor is when they aren't following a script.

      Rabbi SpidermannRabbi Spidermann25 dögum síðan
    • @Rabbi Spidermann Yes true. I also agree on Heart, not funny one bit. John Candy, now he was fantastic.

I love my father and brother and the men in my life because they are good and virtuous people who don't want me to be taken advantage of. but you can go ahead and keep thinking I was if it makes you feel better, since you clearly think women can only form an opinion out of an experience that you can dismiss to make yourself feel intellectually superior! have a nice day :)

    • I respect you decision, I just fail to see how this so called "humour" which anyone can write is supposed to be funny. To me comedy is something that is written with great skill and care. This show however, could easily have been written in a small amount of time. I can write this sort of comedy right now, does that make it funny, or me intelligent? Again I respect your decision, and don't want to be condescending. If however you are willing to give a chance to a fantastic comedy show, then may I recommend Yes Minister and it's follow up Yes Prime Minister. These shows were from the late 70s and 80s, and are intelligently written, beautifuly acted and funny as hell. Thank you.

      Peter LenhamPeter Lenham23 dögum síðan
    • @Peter Lenham Take 2 is the better one to lead with in a conversation for future reference, by the way. I mean, I obviously still disagree. C'est la vie. By now, I've watched the show twice and loved it. "Crass humour" and all (which is a stylistic choice, not a resort, but I'm not about to try to change your mind). Hope you find something you like so you're not forced to condescend to stuff. Must be exhausting. Peace.

      Heidi FischerHeidi Fischer23 dögum síðan
    • @Heidi Fischer I'm not trying to offend you, I'm simply saying that in my opinion this doesn't cut the mustard. Anytime a comedy has to resort to crude, crass humour, it tells me it's not intelligently written. If however you like it then good for you, it's just not my cup of tea.

      Peter LenhamPeter Lenham24 dögum síðan
